A journey on the Trans-Siberian Express Rossia is the longest train ride in the world. The train departs from Yaroslavskiy vokzal (train staion). The train is decorated in typical Russian style including its trade mark gold and red colors. The train is considered one of the best trains in Russia in terms of service, friendliness of staff and upkeep. The train has 1st and 2nd class compartments. The 2nd class compartments have a unique style with green curtains embroidered with pictures of all of the Russian cities through which the train passes. The 1st class compartments are decked out in Russian style red and gold colors. Each compartment also has a TV. The train also has a nice dining car that has a special menu for the passengers.

One of the most popular Trans-Siberian / Peking Express for both Russians and foreigners. This is a privately run train that passes through Ulan-Bataar on its way to Beijing. The train is operated by Russian and Chinese staff. When the train passes from Mongolia into China, the wheels of the train are changed to a smaller gauge - the whole process takes few hours. Vostok train (translated as the East) began  service from Moscow to Beijing in  2001. It is a Trans-Manchurian train and therefore does not pass through Mongolia (which  means that a Mongolian visa is not required). Many people from Russia and China use this train to  transport their wares between the 2 countries - so, you'll see many people with  large bags on the train. The train is quite modern with comfortable 1st and 2nd  class compartments and a good restaurant. Wheels are changed on the boarder  Russia-China. It takes only a few hours.

This is an International express train operating 2x per week between Moscow and Ulan - Bator along the Trans-Mongolian route. The train has 2nd class compartments and a restaurant wagon. This train is unique because it is frequently filled with Russian and Mongolian traders with their goods. The police may also make more careful inspection of the compartments due to the high trade activity. Usually it takes 4 hours, so be ready to spend some time at the station.

This is the weekly Peking Express from Ulan-Bator to Beijing using Chinese rolling stock. Train 3/4 has 1st class 2-berth rooms, which ARE worth the extra money, if you can get one - these compartments have two beds one above the other, a separate armchair, and a private shower/washroom, shared with the compartment next door.
